JEAN PAUL DESROSIERS
“There’s nothing I like more than seeing (the people I coach) succeed.”
Jean Paul Desrosiers has been running, cycling, skiing, snowshoeing, hiking and swimming throughout his life. He has completed marathons and triathlons, and was a semi-pro cyclist. But he’s not just an enthusiast; he’s also a trained professional. He has a degree in exercise science and is also a certified personal trainer who shares his wealth of knowledge with clients using his “experience training” technique. Jean loves adventure and sees way beyond the gym. He likes to point outside and say, “Out there…that’s the real gym. The real gym is infinite.”
“Push-ups and sit-ups are fun,” he says, “but you can really improve yourself when you take what you’ve learned indoors and apply it to something outside the gym,” says Jean.
As for the people he trains, Jean says their goal can be lofty or simple. “I don’t want people to feel intimidated by what I do. I don’t want them to think that they need to be in great shape to work out with me. That’s not what I’m about. If the people I coach are 100% motivated about what they want to accomplish, then we have something in common. There’s nothing I like more than seeing them succeed.”

MATTHEW PEDERSEN
“If you bring an ounce of belief in achieving your goals, I can help it grow until you are shooting for goals you never thought possible.”
Matt has been an athlete for most of his life, playing junior USTA tennis from the age of 7 and throughout his high school and college years. After receiving his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science, his passion for training himself to be the best athlete he could be drove him to pursue a Master’s degree in Sports Performance so that he could help other athletes do the same. Matt became interested in long distance running and pushing his own physical boundaries following his college tennis career. After completing his first marathon he was hooked on running but kept wondering how much further he could push his body. He has since completed multiple ultra-marathons including a 100 miler.
Matt loves to share his passion for pushing his own boundaries.
“I want to help people reach their goals,” he says. “I don’t want to scare anyone by my races. I’ve learned it’s all about determination. Set your mind to a goal, one that’s slightly out of your comfort zone and go after it with all you’ve got.” Matt also wants to help people enjoy exercise by infecting them with his passion and love for staying fit and healthy. “If you train with me, and bring an ounce of belief in achieving your goals, I can help it grow until you are shooting for goals you never thought possible.”
