Got knee pain? Check your IT Band. It begins at your pelvis and runs down the outside of your thigh, down to your shinbone. It also attaches to muscles in your butt and hips so if you have knee pain, it could be due to a tight IT Band in combination with weakness or tightness in your hips. It’s all related.
The good news is, there are proactive steps you can take to loosen up and minimize or eliminate pain which will also help prevent injury. Steps include strengthening your hips, stretching your IT bands, and foam rolling the major muscles in your legs.
